I was in tears last night

Call me a softie, but have you ever seen the movie “Up”?

I love it.

It’s centered around a male character who falls in love with his childhood explorer girl friend.

They get married, live a simple but loving life and always dreamed of adventure together to a place called “Paradise Falls”.

It’s a mysterious, scenic place with a beautiful waterfall.

But every time over the years, something happens (fix the car, fix the roof, etc.) and they have to use their money they wanted to use for their trip to “Paradise Falls”.

When he finally gets enough money and makes the decision to take the trip, he and his wife are in their 80s or so and just as they’re about to take the trip, she passes away.

That absolutely killed me.

The immense amount of regret of not being able to give his wife what she always wanted was eating him alive…to the point where he decides to use thousands of balloons to fly the house they built together all the way to Paradise Falls.

This story hit me harder than it has in the past, mostly because of the serious 9-5 burnout I had in early 2023.

I vowed never again to let my 9-5 rule my life and to build my solo business to achieve the gold standard: Time Freedom.

Look, you may be extremely busy with your 9-5, your kids, stuff around the house, etc.

And corporate culture may have tamed you and taught you to obey.

But, dammit, don’t let your “Paradise Falls” slip out of your hands.

For me, that’s:

  1. more time with the wife and kids
  2. living outside of a major city so we can slooooow down and enjoy the outdoors more
  3. working less

I won’t stop til I get it…I won’t be on my deathbed with regrets, it’s not going to happen.

What’s your “Paradise Falls” and are you going to let it slip away?
