Maybe you don’t have F-you money, but you can have an F-you network
Hey {{ subscriber.first_name | strip | default: “there” }},
I’ll give it to you straight: I’ve gotten my a$$ handed to me over the past couple of weeks.
If you’re new here, you’re probably wondering WTF is this initial email (welcome!).
I can’t go into detail about the 2 massive L’s I just took over the past couple of weeks.
BUT I can tell you that I was completely blindsided by one and the other was a bright shiny object that slowly crumbled and completely disintegrated.
I’m good though - these were career oriented items.
I’m in good health, I’m still married and the kiddos are great.
So in the grand scheme of things, how about you stop being such a whiny little beh-beh?
Here’s what I know:
1) just like the title of this email…if you have F-you network, that can often be more valuable that F-you money
Why?
Because your money isn’t going to be there for you when $hit hits the fan.
Your network (personal and/or professional) will be.
Build your network (that word bothers me a bit)…let’s just call it like it is: make friends, be a good person and do the right thing.
2) This won’t be the last L I take. I expect many more.
But I also expect many more wins.
Why?
Because I’m sticking to the fundamentals.
- I’m doing the things I need to do to succeed in the 9-5.
- I’m having honest conversations.
- I’m building a solo business that has no conflict of interest with my 9-5.
- and most importantly…I’m not giving up.
I hope this email made you either laugh, freak you out a little, or relates to you in some way shape or form.
So in the spirit of a F-you network…I’d love to hear from you.
What’s the most recent L you’ve taken?
Don’t be shy - I need a good laugh.
To your solopreneur success,
Matt Barron
