đź’µ show up!
I consider myself a little bit of a unicorn.
Know enough tech to be dangerous, but feel like I can communicate fairly well and have decent emotional intelligence which helps on the sales front.
On the other hand, one of my colleagues, a solution architect, is SUPER smart, but needs some help in the social department.
It became very apparent when we both went to dinner with one of our clients (in my 9-5) last night.
All in all, he did just fine.
We built relationships and had a good time with our client.
It was funny though when I spoke to my techie colleague today who wanted to “debrief” after the dinner.
“I know I was a bit rusty…”
“I’m not sure what we wanted to achieve…”
I quickly re-assured him that 90% of business is simply showing up.
And we did.
We talked a little shop but mostly just acted like normal human beings.
And I know additional work will head our way when the client is ready.
So how about you, are you showing up?
Play the decade game with me.
To your solopreneur success,
Matt Barron
