đź’µ Stop Prospecting Broke Creators
Hello {{ subscriber.first_name | strip | default: “there” }},
To make money, you have to sell to people who **have money**
And let’s be real…most “creators” don’t have money…that’s why they’re doing what they’re doing.
They need money.
They’re endlessly posting on X about “personal brands” or shouting at you to “be your authentic self”.
Trying to reach 5M impressions so they get $100/mo from Elon.
Writing (or stealing) threads about Steve Jobs or Hormozi.
[excuse me while I slightly puke]
Ok, ok I’m back.
Look, I love X.
And I love the connections I’ve built there.
I made my first $1k as a solopreneur from an inbound on X.
But odds are, you’ll have a better shot at connecting with people who have money on LinkedIn.
So to jumpstart your path there, I highly recommend reading this thread by the Solo Goat himself:

X hates LinkedIn. But I just passed 690K followers and generated $2.41M from the platform last year. Here’s how I use LinkedIn unlike anyone else:

JW started on LI, talking about revenue growth for healthcare tech startups.
After he built momentum, he started porting his audience over to Twitter.
If you’re serious about solopreneurship, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting a Sales Navigator license.
It’s not cheap, but if you can convert one lead into a client, the license pays for itself…assuming you’re not selling a low ticket service (of course you aren’t…you have experience that’s worth moolah on the open market).
With Sales Navigator, you can set up searches that target the exact persona you’re looking for.
Can you do that on X? Nope.
You can find indicators on X, but you can’t isolate the VP of Marketing for $500M+ technology organizations located in the US who have posted on LinkedIn within the last 30 days.
Now that we’ve talked a bit about Sales Nav, I want to turn your attention to Taylin’s post here:

@Mathew_Warboys Thanks my man! Better systems. Better team members. And choosing better clients that we’re suited to get results for.

It’s a simple reply to someone who replied to his original post.
But his reply nails an important point.
Taylin’s business is doubling in part because HE is choosing better clients.
See how that doesn’t reek of desperation?
HE is picking his clients.
HE is in a position of power.
HE is finding clients who actually want to work with him.
This is the mentality you must have when building your business.
Don’t just take on any old person asking for help.
Make sure they’re invested, want to be helped and [DING DING DING] have money!
Which brings me back to LinkedIn.
Start there for your business development efforts.
And if you need help getting going, I’m here for you.
I am your Solopreneur Copilot.
Play the decade game with me.
To your solopreneur success,
Matt Barron
