should you follow this common advice?

Why build a solo business about something if you’re not interested in it?
Common advice I see is to start your solo business with what you know.
I have a major caveat to that: you should only do that if you actually find the topic interesting.
Me about 8-9 months ago: “I’ll make a course about how to get into Tech Sales!”
After spending hours and hours building a course, I realized that I didn’t care about it. I was building a course to help people enter an industry that, while I do find it fascinating, it’s not my end-all-be-all.
So I took a step back and thought, how can I take what I know but apply it in an area that I’m REALLY interested in?
That’s where the combo of Solopreneurship + Sales + Technology came to fruition.
How can I help others accelerate their sales as a solopreneur, using the experience I’ve gained and some simple technology to make sales easier/with less calls?
So I’d encourage you, if you’re starting a solo business, if you’re going to start with what you know, that’s great!
]Just make sure it’s what you’re interested in.
If not, you could be like me and find that you’ve wasted time and money building something you’re not passionate about.
The good news is, you can leverage your existing experience but repurpose it slightly.
Cheers to Accelerating your Solopreneur Sales!
