two foundational elements for your solopreneur success

* { word-break: break-word; }

Good morning!

I’m not feeling 100% today but I want to share 2 critical things I’m helping an aspiring solopreneur with…so I’ll hop right in:

We’ll call the first guy Greg. Greg has a good offer and has had moderate success selling it over in Europe, however, he’d like to tap into the US market.

The challenge is Greg wants to click the easy button and only pay for ads to lead people to his lead magnet and then an email sequence to drive sales.

Here’s the 1st problem:

Put yourself in the buyer’s shoes. If you click on the link, even if you like the product, you’re going to do some homework to see who this person is.

People have become professional digital stalkers.

If you have little to no social presence and limited social proof, it’s going to be tough.

They have no relationship with you and you can tell they don’t have a decent online presence.

It’s a spray and pray methodology that is going to require significant ad dollars to make it successful for a <$50 digital product.

How I would fix it:

  1. Create social media content
  2. Autoplug your email list
  3. Build a relationship with your email subs (they’re humans btw)
  4. Offer your lead magnet on social media to drive additional email subs
  5. Continue to build your relationship through email + set up an email sequence for those that used your lead magnet

Here’s the 2nd problem:

Greg wants results now. The problem with this is, solopreneurship requires momentum. If you don’t have it, it’s tough to create sustainable income.

How I would fix it:

  1. Set a realistic timetable for where you are in your journey (in this case, Greg is still near the starting line)
  2. Set a realistic goal for the next 2 months (i.e., 10 email subscribers, 5 that DL’d your lead magnet, etc.)
  3. Do what I said to fix the first problem.

This Friday, I’m going to meet with Greg to go through my Solopreneur Foundation Accelerator to get things back on track.

He has a great product and I want to see him succeed.

Alright, I’m going to go take some Day-Quil and rest up a bit.

Have a great Wednesday & let me know what you think about my recommendations.
