What you don't need to build a profitable solo business
The Solopreneur Copilot
I recently came across a tweet and an a egregious misconception surfaced.
The original tweet was about new grads facing an impossible job market.
This is true.
The job market sucks right now.
I responded that you must start your own business, even if you still need a job (like me right now – I still have a 9-5).
There were several people who responded “With what capital?!” – ie needing money to start a business.

There’s a large misconception out there that you need massive capital to start a business. Simply not true. https://twitter.com/embeethree/status/1997068708263477503

@FluentInFinance You have to start your own business. Nothing to lose at this point.

While yes, having some money to start a business is helpful, you don’t need a large sum of money.
For a profitable internet service business, all you need is:
- a laptop
- an internet connection.
- a high-value skill (sales, marketing, development, etc.)
- the ability to communicate and propose a solution to someone’s problem
That’s it.
No mega capital, fundraising, fancy website…nada.
My website is built using Carrd.
The approach above is what enabled me to build a $10.2k MRR business in 3 months…verified by TrustMRR so you know I’m not full of it: https://trustmrr.com/startup/barron-tech-llc
I’m currently helping David build his personal business (see below) – if you’d like me to help you do the same here’s the easiest way to get started.

Had an incredible call with @EmBeeThree recently. He’s got 1 foot in the door of the solopreneur dream. He’s landing high ticket clients and helping others do the same. And he gave me a great reframing to make that happen. Words are powerful and I love his alternative: I say
