how 7U baseball is similar to solopreneurship

and why it matters

This past weekend, I was sitting under the hot sun at a baseball complex outside of Houston, TX.

Dreaming of my future Lake Tahoe home where I can enjoy this time of year, I quickly snapped back to the baseball game that my 3rd son was playing in.

In 7-and-under baseball, there’s a lot of things that need to happen to for your team to be have a shot at winning:

  • the coach needs to pitch well to the kids
  • the kids have to field the ball effectively
  • when you get a ball, you need to figure out which base to throw or run to
  • when you bat, you have to know how many pitches you have left
  • you have to power through poor umpire calls

That’s a lot for a 7 year old!

What’s worse is you’ll have parents ratcheting up the pressure on their kids.

Luckily, the team that we’re on is nothing like that, but you’d be appalled at some of the other coaches behavior.

So many parallels to solopreneurship…the pieces need to work in unison, otherwise it’s hard to reach your goals:

  • a problem that people are willing to pay to fix needs to be identified
  • top-of-funnel content needs to drive fans to an email list
  • emails need to build a relationship and present offers
  • offers need to address the challenges of the subscribers
  • writing needs to be compelling
  • social proof needs to be collected

Think of your solopreneur journey as a progress bar.

There’s certain levels…and to complete each level requires progress against the bullets above, in unison!

That’s what I’m helping people, like you, solve on a daily basis and this week I’m opening up 1 more slot into my Solopreneur Copilot™ program.

Reply “copilot” and I’ll send you the details.

To your solopreneur success,
